About Us
Midwest School of Ballet is dedicated to developing a well rounded, versatile and whole dancer. We use methods designed to not only build strength and technical skill, but also encourage exploration, foster creativity, self-confidence and artistry. Classes are infused with terminology, history, and anatomy. Students are encouraged to see dance outside of the studio, as well as to be ambassadors and advocates for dance.

As your student grows into the upper levels, their technique classes will be rooted in the Cecchetti technique principles. The Cecchetti Method is a progressive dance training system carefully designed to build in complexity emphasizing mechanics, technique, musicality and artistry from pre-ballet to the professional level.
Midwest School of Ballet's upper ballet classes are taught utilizing Cecchetti's set syllabus exercises along with the instructor's own sequences engaging the student to be a well rounded and versatile dancer. Famous dancers such as Pavlova and Nijinsky were under Cecchetti's tutelage and still today Cecchetti training has continued to produce many famous dancers..

In 2016 our school became a 501(c)(3) non-profit training school dedicated to providing a comprehensive dance education with a solid foundation in ballet and modern techniques. Our class sizes are small so students obtain the individualized attention needed to develop their training and creativity. As scheduling and space allow, students have the opportunity to participate in an end of session showcase. Our showcases are designed to showcase the students where they are at without fancy and expensive costumes or multiple hour productions.
